The upcoming Olympic Games in Paris promise to be a truly exceptional event, showcasing the distinct charm of France in myriad ways. As the host nation, France eagerly awaits the arrival of people from across the globe, extending a warm welcome filled with pride and enthusiasm. It's a celebration of sportsmanship and values such as excellence, respect, and friendship.

On April 16, marking the onset of the 100-day countdown to the Paris Olympics, the Olympic flame was ignited in Ancient Olympia, Greece. Embarking on its symbolic journey, the torch will make its way to Marseille by boat on May 8, commencing a grand tour across France. Passing through 65 cities and 100 iconic landmarks, the flame will culminate its voyage at the cauldron in Trocadéro Square, Paris, on July 26.

This summer, France anticipates hosting 15,000 athletes from 205 delegations and welcoming 16 million tourists. Paris itself will transform into a colossal open-air stadium, with renowned landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Avenue des Invalides, Place de la Concorde, and the Palace of Versailles serving as backdrops for various competitions. Additionally, events will be spread across approximately 20 cities in France and overseas, including unique locations like Tahiti for surfing and Marseille for football and sailing.

The Paris Olympics pride themselves on inclusivity, with the Paralympics sharing venues with the Olympics and being held in close succession. Furthermore, this edition marks a historic milestone with equal representation of male and female athletes, achieving gender balance for the first time.

Embracing sustainability, the Paris Olympics are committed to reducing their carbon footprint by half compared to previous games, exemplifying a dedication to environmental responsibility.
